Autumn Salmon Run on the American River 2014

Hello Folks,

right now as I write the ending is coming to the final days of the Salmon run along the American River up to the Nimbus Dam.

I  bike along this pass quite often and was lucky enough to have captured some images and video of this wonderful event. One passer bye mentioned that the run looks pretty small but I found it a very fascinating event of female salmon fighting for spots with other female salmon and then watch the even larger male fish coming in to fight over the right to fertilize the new eggs.

Yosemite Before The Snows

Spent the past weekend in Yosemite with my wife Lidice.

Needless to say, the fall colors were out with the Aspen trees glowing yellow and orange.

I will get back up to the Sierra Nevada for some more bright colors this weekend.

For now, here comes Yosemite.
